Teen charged with statutory rape

A 17-year-old male from Truesdale has been charged with statutory rape for allegedly having sex with a 12-year-old girl.A criminal charge was filed Aug. 3 against Dylan J. Green, 17, Truesdale, in Warren County Circuit Court. Green could face 10 years in prison or more for the charge of first-degree statutory rape with a victim less than 12 years of age.Warrenton police received a report of a sexual assault June 4, according to authorities. The victim’s mother told police Green had assaulted her daughter, who was 12 years old at the time.Police interviewed Green, who stated that he had consensual sex with the girl.A warrant was issued Aug. 3 for Green’s arrest and he was taken into custody the same day. His bond was set at $100,000. An arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 15 in Warren County Circuit Court.
