A Warrenton teen has been charged in the theft of guns, silver coins and $40,000 in cash from a Warren County home in November.Kyle P. Reese, 18, was charged March 1 for second-degree burglary, stealing a firearm and stealing $25,000 or more. Reese also is one of two suspects charged with a break-in and vandalism at Warrenton High School last July.According to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy investigated a burglary and theft at a home off of Deer Run Road Nov. 25. The rear garage door had been forced open, authorities said. Items stolen included a .22 pistol, a .45 pistol and a rifle, along with the coins and cash.Deputies received information in February that Reese was involved in the burglary. Coordinating with Warrenton Police Department, deputies identified a residence in Warrenton where Reese had been staying.An investigator contacted Reese at the residence Feb. 26. A search of the home revealed the stolen .22 pistol, according to the sheriff’s department.Reese allegedly provided conflicting information about obtaining and selling items including the stolen silver coins at pawnshops.Another person interviewed by authorities said Reese had bragged about the burglary, including mentioning the large amount of cash stolen, which was not public information at the time.Reese was taken to the Warren County Jail and released on a $20,000 surety bond. He has a hearing scheduled for March 14 in the Warren County Circuit Court.Last year, Reese was charged with second-degree burglary and first-degree property damage, along with a misdemeanor stealing charge, stemming from a break-in at Warrenton High School. Reese and another suspect allegedly caused $1,300 in damage and stole several electronic devices from the school July 12. Reese’s next hearing for those charges is March 6 at the Warren County Circuit Court.The other suspect in the high school break-in, Brendan I. Peters, 18, Warrenton, pleaded guilty Feb. 16 and was given five years of state-supervised probation.
