UPDATE: The Wright City Trash Bash has postponed due to forecasted rain. It will be Saturday, May 6, 9 a.m. at Diekroeger Park.Wright City is celebrating Earth Day with a group cleanup, or Trash Bash.Volunteers should meet at Diekroeger Park at 9 a.m. Saturday, April 22. They will be given gloves, safety vests and trash bags and then groups will take to the city to pick up trash and litter along roadways in recognition of Earth Day. Volunteers are encouraged to wear sturdy shoes.Lunch will be served later that morning back at the park. Participants will also receive a redbud tree seedling grown by the Missouri Department of Conservation.Earth Day is held annually worldwide to show support for environmental protection. People unable to join Trash Bash are encouraged to spruce up their neighborhoods.The event is sponsored by the city of Wright City, state Rep. Bryan Spencer, Scott’s Miracle Grow, Coca-Cola and the Missouri Department of Transportation.For more information, call City Hall at 636-745-3101.Earth Day
