Eight Warrenton High School students medaled at the regional Academic Challenge competition.
The Warriors earned 10 total medals to place first at the regional competition. Warrenton topped Washington High School to win the regional title.
Alice Briggs, Roy Briggs, Luke Rausch and Owen Thompson each earned first place in one category. Roy Briggs and Thompson each placed in two categories. Briggs placed first in computer science and second in English. Thompson placed first in physics and third in engineering graphics. Alice Briggs placed first in English. Rausch placed first in chemistry. Merrick Owens and Katie Shramek both placed second in their categories. Owens placed second in Chemistry, while Shramek placed second in physics. Grant Buechner and Abby Palmer also medaled at the regional competition. Buechner placed third in Biology, while Palmer placed third in English.
Warrenton recently tested for the sectional Athletic Challenge competition. The tests were held virtually.
