By Chris OrletRecord Managing EditorLinda Stude, Warren County collector of revenue since 1991, announced that she will not seek re-election to a seventh term.Stude said the decision was very difficult because she enjoys the challenges of the position and meeting with Warren County taxpayers.“It is just time to seek out what other adventures life has in store,” she said.Warren County Presiding Commissioner Arden Engelage said Stude’s announcement caught the county commissioners by surprise.“She has done a wonderful job over the years,” he said. “She has been a pleasure to work with and always had the taxpayers’ best interests in mind. We hate to see her go.”Stude said she will miss her daily interaction with her staff, as well as the support of the local officials who have “had her back” all these years, as well as the safety net that other collectors from across the state have provided by sharing their knowledge and friendship.“I will miss the taxpayers of Warren County,” she said. “And I want to thank them for their many hugs and smiles as they have supported me through the years. I feel truly blessed to have been given this opportunity to serve them all this time.”Stude’s current term — which she intends to complete — will end in March of 2015.“I wanted to make this announcement at this time because filing for the new term of collector opens this coming February (2014),” she said. “I wanted to give those individuals interested in running for the office time to do their research into the requirements and challenges and, of course, the rewards of the position.”Stude won't seek 7th term
