Strictly Vapors Offers Alternative to Tobacco

Chris Taylor was a three-pack a day smoker.“My wife told me she wouldn’t marry me unless I quit,” he said.Taylor didn’t give up the nicotine, but two years ago he gave up the cigarettes and switched to “vaping,” the act of using an electronic inhaler that vaporizes a liquid solution into an aerosol mist, which simulates the act of smoking a traditional cigarette.About five weeks ago, Taylor opened Strictly Vapors at 120 Kuhl St. in Warrenton.Strictly Vapors sells everything needed for vaping, including electronic cigarettes, or “e-cigs,” accessories, starter kits and a plethora of flavored e-juices to refill e-cig cartridges. The e-juices are available with different nicotine levels, from zero nicotine to 24 milligrams per milliliter.“My juices are all U.S.A made with U.S.A. material,” he explained.Juices come in cigarette flavors, some which are designed to mimic popular name brands, both menthol and nonmenthol. But they also come in other flavors such as strawberry, banana, cinnamon and even cappuccino.“Some of the more popular flavors are gummy bears, watermelon bubble gum and a sweet-tart flavor,” he added.Taylor sells starter kits that include the e-cig, a bottle of juice, a lanyard, battery charger and a carrying case, which costs less than two cartons of cigarettes.E-cigs are less expensive than smoking, Taylor said, costing around an average of $50 per month for the juice for a person who vapes regularly.People who smoke regular cigarettes might spend that in a week for a name brand according to Taylor.Vaping isn’t marketed as a smoking cessation aid, but Taylor said it definitely got him away from traditional cigarettes.“I can’t say that it’s better for you, but people can do the research and judge for themselves,” he said. “I do know that cigarettes contain over 4,000 harmful cancer-causing chemicals, whereas (e-cigs) do not.”Taylor said vaping is pretty much accepted in the pubic sector.“I use mine in Wal-Mart and even in the courthouse and no one’s ever said anything,” he said.He even vaped in the hospital when his son was born.“I was puffing on a vape during the delivery,” he said.Strictly Vapors is open Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Wednesdays from noon to 8 p.m.Taylor said presently he is open on Sundays from noon to 4 p.m., but will have “floating” hours once his son starts football later this summer.Taylor said he requires customers to be at least 18 years of age.For more information, visit the store’s website at www.StrictlyVapors.com, or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/strictlyvapor or call 636-456-3388.Strictly Vapors
