The annual Wright City Strassenbash festival is this weekend, beginning with a car show and street festival Friday, Oct. 2, and continuing with the annual parade and festival activities at Diekroeger Park Saturday, Oct. 3.
The car show will take place on North First Street between the St. Louisiana Q restaurant and Town & County Garage. The street will close at 3 p.m., with the car show officially beginning at 5 p.m. Live music will be offered from 7-9 p.m.
Saturday’s events begin at 7 a.m. with a pancake breakfast at Diekroeger Park.
Lineup for Strassenbash Parade participants begins at 9:30 a.m. at North First Street. The parade will travel through downtown Wright City to Diekroeger Park at 11 a.m.
Live music will be offered at the festival throughout the day, along with a number of family-friendly activities such as cornhole and bubble ball.
Here are some of the other activities scheduled for the Strassenbash festival:
• 11:30-3:30 — Face painting.
• Noon — Person of the Year announcement.
• 1:00 — Pumpkin painting registration. Painting begins at 1:30.
• 1:30 — Baby contest registration. Contests for different ages begin at 2:00.
• 3:00 — Chef Lee cooking demonstration.
• 4:00 — Strassenbash Ambassador contest winners announced.
• 5:00 — Bingo.
• 6:00 — Bicycle giveaway.
• 7:00: — 50/50 raffle drawing.
