With the week of the Warren County Fair approaching (July 1-7), residents are reminded to prepare for hot summer weather before going out. Parents are also reminded to look out for the safety and health of their children. The first event of Fair week is the annual parade Sunday, July 1, at 2 p.m. starting in Downtown Warrenton. Temperatures for that day and the rest of the week are predicted in the high 80s and low 90s, with sun and humidity. Here is some advice for health and safety from Warren County Ambulance District:Drinking plenty of water, Gatorade or similar hydration is a must for those outside, as is liberal use of sunscreen.Parents with infant children should probably keep them at home if it’s extremely hot and sunny, said Warren County Ambulance CEO Ralph Hellebusch. Those who attend Fair events are advised to eat healthy meals throughout the week, wear loose clothing with light colors, and take frequent breaks in the shade. Warren County Ambulance District will have a medical station at the Lions Club on the fairgrounds. For the parade, parents should keep their children away from moving vehicles and keep a close eye on kids chasing candy. Spectators might also consider ear protection for emergency vehicles that are using sirens. Those who are on medications that don’t mix well with the sun should make doubly sure to find a shady spot to watch the parade.Warren County Fair
