As early as Sept. 2, contractor crews are scheduled to begin work on stage 2 of the bridge replacement and interchange improvement project located at the Routes A/B and Interstate 70 interchange at mile marker 188.6 near Pendleton in Warren County, weather permitting.
Motorists will notice work beginning on two sections of west Veterans Memorial Parkway on the southeast side of the interchange to tie in the newly constructed segments from stage 1.
During the second phase of construction, work will include continued construction on the new Routes A/B bridge, a closure of West Veterans Memorial Parkway at Route B to facilitate tie-in work to newly completed roadway sections and a detour that will divert west Veterans Memorial Parkway traffic onto eastbound I-70 to the Route MM interchange, west of Warrenton.
The closure will last up to 28 days.
“In the coming months, the interchange will become an active work zone and require various segments to close for roadway construction. We would like to remind drivers to please slow down, obey all signs and eliminate distractions while driving. The safety of the traveling public and our workers is our top priority,” said MoDOT Area Engineer Jeff Niemeyer.
