Justin Owens, 36, of St. Louis, was charged with first-degree attempted burglary and harassment, both felonies, as well as resisting arrest and operating a vehicle in a careless manner, both misdemeanors, stemming from an incident on the late evening of May 28.
According to the probable cause statement filed by Wright City Police Officer William Ingrassia, Owens reached out to the victim threatening her and saying he was going to rob her home.
Owens arrived at the residence and attempted to force entry through a locked door yelling at the victim to “open up.”
The victim hid in a bathroom and called 911. When officers arrived on the scene they saw Owens as he fled the area and engaged in a vehicle chase, according to the probable cause statement.
Owens then turned off all the lights on his vehicle and fled at high speed through neighborhoods to evade the officers, according to the probable cause statement.
A warrant has been issued for his arrest and he is to be held without bond.
