A Chesterfield man is accused of raping a woman at an Insbrook home where he had been hired to do maintenance work.Pedro T. Jasso, 48, is now in custody at the Warren County jail on rape and burglary charges for the Sept. 17 sexual assault.Prosecutors issued charges following an investigation by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department.Authorities were contacted by the victim, who reported that the incident happened at an Aspen Point Drive house for which Jasso had a key, according to the sheriff’s department.The woman told investigators that she was picked up by Jasso the morning of Sept. 17 in front of Marquette High School in Chesterfield, and rode with him to the house in Innsbrook.After showing the woman around the property, Jasso reportedly entered with a key and took her to an upstairs bedroom, where they started kissing. The woman reported that Jasso began removing her clothes, and that when he tried to remove her undergarments, she told him “No” multiple times.However, Jasso allegedly continued removing all of the woman’s clothes and then had sex with her despite her objections.During a later call between the victim and Jasso, the woman asked why Jasso did not stop after she had told him “No.” Jasso reportedly did not directly answer the question, but told the woman not to worry about what had happened and to not make the incident “a big deal,” authorities said.When a detective contacted Jasso directly, he allegedly admitted to having sex with the woman at the Aspen Point Drive property.Authorities spoke to the owner of the property, who stated that Jasso has a key, but is only supposed to enter at the request of the homeowner to do maintenance work.The charges against Jasso, second-degree rape and second-degree burglary, are class D felonies, punishable by a maximum seven years in prison.Jasso had a hearing scheduled for Sept. 24 in Warren County Circuit Court. He was ordered to be held in the Warren County Jail without bond until he is seen by a judge.Crime
