The St. John’s Lutheran Church will hold its Ladies Morning Retreat on Aug. 2 at the church with Sue Stratman as a guest speaker.
Stratman is a long time former resident of Warrenton. She will speak on the topic of “Faith over Fear.”
She, along with her son, Daniel, and her husband Jay, co-authored the book, “When Losing is Winning.” The book chronicles the Lord’s faithfulness to their family as they journeyed through struggles and life altering events after their son underwent hernia surgery. That surgery went very wrong due to mistakes by the medical team.
Daniel was left with severe and profound brain injuries. Sue told the Lord, “If he would teach her how to overcome her fears, she would teach others what he taught her.”
In addition to Stratman’s remarks, there will also be hymn singing, lunch and devotions led by Pastors Jeremy Klaustermeier and Morris Meseke.
Registration for the retreat will close on July 28. All women of the community are invited to register ahead of time for this free event. Call St. John’s to register at 636-456-2888. Instead of payment, the church is requesting donations of laundry detergent for Agape.
