A St. Charles woman was charged with resisting/interfering with arrest for an incident that occurred Monday, Sept. 1.
According to a probable cause affidavit submitted by Missouri State Highway Patrol, Kelsey Lee Kaltenbach, 36, was driving a 2000 Honda Civic involved in a vehicle pursuit on eastbound I-70 in Warren County. Prior to the pursuit there were reports the vehicle was traveling in a careless and imprudent manner along with leaving the scene of five non-injury crashes, with the most recent accident being at mile marker 165 in Montgomery County. The defendant allegedly stopped her car in the middle of the roadway and backed in the vehicle behind her, before leaving the scene.
The New Florence Police Department located the vehicle and began pursuing it eastbound on I-70 near mile marker 180. The pursuit continued to mile marker 191 in Warrenton, where troopers deployed stop sticks on the Honda disabling several tires. The pursuit continued until spikes were deployed again at the Foristell overpass. The vehicle then crashed into a cable barrier near mile marker 205 in St. Charles. Kaltenbach was taken into custody.
