State Rep. Bryan Spencer is seeking a seat on the Wright City R-II School Board as he enters his final year in the Missouri House of Representatives.

Spencer has registered to appear on the election ballot April 7 alongside three school board incumbents. Three seats on the R-II board of education will be elected in April. Incumbent board members Heidi Hallemann, Alice Jensen and Michael Bates are all seeking re-election.

2020 will be Spencer’s eighth year in the Missouri House, and he will reach his term limit at the end of the year. Spencer represents House District 63, which includes Wright City, Wentzville and Innsbrook. Prior to being elected he worked as a teacher, and currently teaches part-time at Liberty Christian Academy in Wright City.

Various city government, school board and emergency district elections will be held April 7. Candidate filing is open until Jan. 21 for those who wish to run for office. Those who want to file should contact the office of the district where the want to seek election.

Filing was slow the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day, but a couple more candidates have added their names to local races.

Truesdale resident Rodger Wells filed this week to run for the Truesdale Board of Aldermen. Two seats are up for election there, with incumbent Mike Thomas being the only other candidate to file thus far.

One more incumbent has joined his colleagues in seeking to retain their seats on the board that controls the Warren County 911 Dispatch.

Scott A. Jacob has filed for re-election to the Warren County Emergency Services Board. He and fellow board members H. Frank Stuermann, Jason Zwyers and Martha Groeper thus far are the sole candidates for four available seats on the board.
