A female driver was arrested last Thursday after a pound of marijuana was located inside her vehicle on Interstate 70.Melissa L. Shy, 36, of Columbia, was charged with felony drug possession with the intent to distribute. According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper, the pot was located inside Shy’s purse during a search.Shy was clocked driving 84 mph around 9:59 a.m. near the 190-mile marker when the trooper initiated a traffic stop. The officer detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and a small glass jar filled with the drug was turned over by Shy, according to the probable cause statement. A further search led to the trooper allegedly discovering more pot in the woman’s purse.Melissa Shy
