Spectrum announced a series of donations totaling $13,000 to five different St. Louis area organizations through the company’s national philanthropic program, Spectrum Employee Community Grants.
Since its inception in 2019, Spectrum Employee Community Grants has provided more than $284,000 in funding to more than 48 St. Louis area nonprofits, where Spectrum employees are volunteering their time and talent.
Spectrum hosted a recognition ceremony and check presentation with each of the nonprofits, the Spectrum employee volunteers and other leaders to commemorate the donations.
The latest St. Louis-area Spectrum Employee Community Grant recipients are:
Agape Community Outreach - $7,500 to increase and improve the quantity and quality of food and personal care items available to families in their food pantry. ·
CASA of Jefferson County - $1,000 to provide training for volunteers who advocate for children in the court system and serve their best interests. ·
My Life in a Bag Foundation - $1,000 to provide luggage and essential items to children who reside in foster care and residential group home facilities. ·
Sts. Joachim and Ann Care Service - $2,500 to purchase items for food pantry locations as well as the mobile food pantry traveling to food deserts in the area. ·
The Sharing Shed - $1,000 to purchase new beds and mattresses for local families in need.
“Through Spectrum Employee Community Grants, we’re committed to providing support to vital community organizations with whom our local employees are already volunteering their time and talent,” said Aaron Detwiler, Area Vice President of Field Operations. “Together, we’re building stronger communities where our customers and employees live and work across America.”
Recipients deliver critical social services, helping underserved residents meet basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, job training and neighborhood safety. Each awardee is nominated by one of the company’s more than 101,000 U.S. employees who has volunteered with the organization for at least one year.
