Innsbrook officials are looking at ways to improve their Internet service amid concerns about slow connectivity. The village has fielded complaints from residents over the past several months and is attempting to improve the situation, along with the Innsbrook Corporation, developers of Innsbrook Resort.Apparently some residents are paying for high-speed Internet, but the service remains slow, according to Village Administrator Carla Heggemann.“We’ve had a lot of citizens complain,” she said. “It’s been an issue for some time now.”Slow Internet speed has been a regular topic at monthly board of trustee meetings.CenturyLink is the main provider to the area. Some options that have been discussed is the possibility of reaching out to Charter Communication to see if the company has any interest in providing service to village residents. A resident also has told village officials that funds may be available to help provide high-speed Internet to rural areas. The Innsbrook Board of Trustees plan to invite Innsbrook Corporation President/CEO Charlie Boyce to the next meeting, scheduled for 7 p.m. April 12, to review any updates made in the past month. Other news• Linda Buschman provided trustees an update on work being done by the University of Missouri Extension Council at the last meeting March 1. Buschman represents the village on the board and will serve as chairman for the second consecutive year. In addition to overseeing the 4-H and master gardener programs, she said the organization is looking to develop more business-driven programs.• Village officials are continuing to work on hiring a contracted inspector to review new or changes to septic tanks. Warren County commissioners declined an offer to perform the required inspections.• Trustees are looking to fill a vacancy on the board of adjustments.
