Four people are suspected of burglarizing a home in Marthasville after a resident was tricked into leaving the house unattended. Two handguns and a safe containing $2,000 were taken from the home on the 500 block of Hiawatha Street June 21, according to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department. The suspects dropped one of the guns in the yard of the home, where it was recovered by authorities. Two of the suspects have been arrested and two more have been identified for arrest, the sheriff’s department announced in a public statement. The two arrested thus far are Franklin County resident Jessica Perkins, 29, and Minda Williams, 22, of Cuba, Mo.Authorities said both Perkins and Williams admitted to travelling to the home with two males and discussing a plan for the burglary.Perkins allegedly approached a homeowner at the house, who she said she doesn’t know, and asked if she could get a ride to Dollar General. She allegedly admitted to a detective that she intended to lure the woman away from the home so that it could be burglarized. After Perkins and the victim left, Williams and the other suspects reportedly arrived in a silver Chevy Cruze sedan, forced open the front door of the home and took the items.Perkins and Williams are charged with second-degree burglary, stealing $750 or more, and stealing a firearm. All the charges are Class D felonies with a maximum penalty of seven years in prison.
