There are a number of candidates around the county who will be running for reelection unopposed including board seats in Truesdale, Wright City, Warrenton and Marthasville.

In Truesdale Alderman Kari Hartley and Mayor Jerry Cannon will be running unopposed. The late Alderman Justin Naranjo, who tragically passed away earlier this year was also running unopposed.

Cannon said he was unaware of any write-in campaign to fill Justin’s seat and said if it remains empty after the April 8 election, as mayor he will appoint a replacement who will then be voted on by the remaining board members.

Although there are two contested races in Warrenton, Mayor Eric Schlueter and Ward One Alderman Larry Corder were the only filers in their respective races and will run for reelection unopposed.

In Wright City, Ward One Alderman Don Andrews and Ward Two Alderman Kim Arbuthnot were the only filers and will be running unopposed.

In Marthasville, Mayor David Lange along with West Ward Alderman Leo Meyer and East Ward Alderman Gary Dixon are also the sole candidates in their races.

There are also seats up for election on several non-municipal boards that are running unopposed. Incumbents Rob Vogelsang and Donnie Owenby will run to return to their seats on the Warrenton Fire Protection District’s Board of Directors.

On the Board of Directors for the Warren County Ambulance District, Jill Smoot and Anthony Vacek will also be running unopposed as will Greg Cooper and Gary Swartz of the Marthasville Community Ambulance District.
