Several injured, one rescued after deck collapse

A deck collapse at a home in Innsbrook Saturday evening trapped one person and injured several more, according to Wright City Fire Protection District.A fire district commanding officer was the first to arrive at the scene, and assisted bystanders in holding debris off the trapped person while waiting for crews to arrive, the district said. A four-person crew from the fire district then arrived and was able to partially clear enough debris for medics to evaluate the trapped patient.A second crew, from Warrenton Fire Protection District, also came to assist and helped to fully extricate the patient.Several Warren County Ambulance District crews treated the injured patients, most of whom were treated at the scene. Only one person was transported for additional treatment, according to Wright City Fire Protection District.Responders had initially contacted an air ambulance, but canceled the call.Marthasville Volunteer Fire Department provided coverage in the Warrenton area while the Warrenton crew was in Innsbrook.
