Seven Warrenton Players Named All-GAC

A rare run to the district championship game helped land seven Warrenton baseball players on the GAC All-Conference team.The Warriors finished 11-9 before falling to Duchesne in the title game.Ben Stephens —Sophomore earned a first-team nod for his performance on the mound. Stephens traded starts with Brandon Moeller, carrying a 3.71 ERA through 39 innings. He went 5-3 as a starter, striking out 56 batters and walking 14.Stephens batted .208 with 11 hits, four RBIs and seven runs scored.“He proved to us early in the conference schedule that he was ready for more responsibility,” said Coach Eric Burle. “He has a really good slider and did a nice job for us.”Brandon Moeller —Junior was selected to the first team as an infielder. He recorded a 3.71 ERA through 39 innings, striking out 40 batters and walking 17, while giving up 40 hits.At the plate, Moeller was second on the team with a .333 batting average, collecting 19 hits, 14 RBIs and 11 runs.“He was by far our best RBI guy,” said Burle. “He came up with a bunch of key hits and huge RBIs that really helped us out through the season.”Trevor Bradshaw —Senior garnered a first-team nod for his work in the outfield. He batted .279 with 12 hits, five RBIs and three runs scored.“His spot on the team was representative of his defensive ability,” said Burle. “It’s kind of what we expected, and he tracked down quite a few balls in the outfield for us. He has an accurate arm in the outfield.”Jakob Junker — Senior was chosen as a second-team infielder during his third year as a varsity starter. Junker pitched an played first base as one of the Warriors’ most reliable leaders.He batted .308 with 12 hits, three RBIs and eight runs scored.“He’s a well-rounded athlete who played a significant role for us,” said Burle. “He showed tremendous senior leadership and was that glue that kept us together a lot of times. He dealt with some injuries that slowed him down offensively.”Kenny Dildine — Senior earned recognition as a second-team outfielder after batting .326 with 15 hits, four RBIs and eight runs.“We moved him toward the top of the lineup, and he blossomed in that position,” said Burle. “He really progressed as the season went on and ended up hitting well for us.”Jordan Noble — Senior was recognized as a second-team designated hitter.“He was chosen more for his defense behind the plate,” said Burle. “He was pretty much a brick wall behind the plate and made a number of game-changing plays.”Dallas Johnson — Freshman was named to the second team as an infielder after batting .304 with 17 hits, six RBIs and 10 runs scored.“Even though he was a freshman coming in, he had played a lot of games and had a lot of experience,” said Burle. “He made an immediate impact for us on the varsity level.”
Warrenton junior Brandon Moeller was named to the All-GAC first team.
