The Warrenton girls basketball team saw its season come to a close on Tuesday, falling to St. Charles West 54-39 in the Class 4 sectional meeting at Francis Howell Central.The Warriors couldn't manage to overcome a slow start, despite cutting a 20-point deficit down to six in the third quarter.After being held to just one basket and trailing 15-3 in the first quarter, the Warriors began to find their offense and attack the inside presence of 6-foot-3 Kacy Eschweiler.In the third quarter alone, sophomore Jenny Jansen scored 11 of her team-best 19 points, taking it to Eschweiler inside.St. Charles West reestablished its offense in the fourth quarter, pulling away to defeat Warrenton for a third time this season.The Warriors finished the season 18-8 and will lose two seniors.WARRIORS SEASON ENDSDerrick Forsythe photo.
