The male suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Aug. 17 in Warrenton likely has left the area, according to Police Chief Greg Houdyshell. He said police continue to investigate and search for the whereabouts of the suspect who threatened another with a knife in the Holiday Inn Express parking lot. The alleged robbery took place around 10:45 p.m. when the suspect came up behind the victim and placed a knife against his throat. The victim had been gathering items from his vehicle and was beginning to walk toward the hotel lobby when he was assaulted, police said. The victim didn't have any cash but turned over a $200 Best Buy gift card and an external hard drive, Houdyshell previously reported. The victim was from the Kansas City area and had yet to check in at the hotel. He was traveling alone. The robbery suspect fled the area on foot. He was identified as a white male believed to be in his 30s. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact the Warrenton Police Department at 636-456-3535.
