The school board for Warren County R-III has postponed its meeting to discuss proposed program cuts due to two board members contracting COVID-19.
The school board was scheduled to vote on budget cuts for the 2021-2022 school year on Nov. 12, but the vote has been pushed back to Nov. 18, said Superintendent Dr. Gregg Klinginsmith.
“The board of education values the input from our stakeholders and wants to hold the meeting at a time all board members can physically be present,” Klinginsmith said.
The vote on budget cuts will take place Nov. 18, 6 p.m. at the High School Commons. The school district has proposed budget cuts of $950,000, potentially including classes focused on agriculture and other specialties.
Although the discussion of budget cuts has been pushed back a week, the school board will still meet Nov. 12 to discuss regular business. That meeting is at 7 p.m. at Black Hawk Middle School.
