Schneider is named MCMC vice chairman

The Missouri Corn Merchandising Council and the Missouri Corn Growers Association has announced a new slate of officers, appointments of recently elected board members and national committee assignments.

The following Missouri Corn Merchandising Council leaders assumed their new roles Oct. 1: Chairman Mark Scott of Wentzville in District 6; Vice Chairman Greg Schneider of Warrenton in District 6; Secretary Jay Fischer of Jefferson City in District 5; Treasurer Jay Schutte of Benton City in District 3.

The election of the 2017-18 Missouri Corn Merchandising Council officer team took place during an August board meeting held in Branson.

Also elected in August, the 2017-18 Missouri Corn Merchandising Council officers are President Kyle Kirby of Liberal in District 4; Vice President Mike Moreland  of Harrisonville in District 4; Secretary/Treasurer Clint Stephens of Advance in District 7.

New Missouri Corn Merchandising Council board member Dylan Rosier of Mound City also was appointed by the board of directors to serve growers in District 1. Rosier will be nominated to the Missouri Corn Merchandising Council board at the organization’s annual meeting in January.

Missouri Corn Merchandising Council is a longstanding partner with the U.S. Grains Council in working to enhance the value of corn, ethanol and distillers grains through strong international exports. Missouri Corn exofficio director Jim Stuever of Dexter represents Missouri corn farmers on the USGC board of directors. Serving on USGC advisory teams are: Jay Schutte, Asia; Mark Scott, Middle East/Africa; Morris Heitman of Mound City, Value-Added; Jay Fischer, Ethanol; and Gary Porter, of Mercer, Western Hemisphere. Missouri Corn Director of Public Policy Shane Kinne will serve on the Trade Policy Team.

Several Missouri corn leaders have also been appointed to serve on National Corn Growers Association action teams and committees.

Morris Heitman was renamed to the Freedom to Operate Action Team; Mike Moreland will again serve on the Risk Management Action Team; Jay Schutte was named chairman of the Ethanol Action Team; Greg Schneider was reappointed to the Corn Productivity and Quality Action Team; Brian Lehman was named to the Consumer Engagement Action Team as well as the Resolutions Committee, and Mark Scott will again serve on the Resolutions Task Force.

Missouri Corn Director of Grower Services Matt Amick will join the Freedom to Operate Action Team and Associate Director of Public Policy Samantha Davis will serve as a state staff member for the Market Access Action Team.

Additionally, Gary Porter is currently a director on the National Corn Board.

The Missouri Corn Merchandising Council board of directors is comprised of 15 corn growers elected from across the state. This volunteer board was formed in 1984 with the passage of a corn checkoff and is dedicated to market development, research and education.
