By Janine Davis Record Staff Writer Campaigning on her experience as a business owner and real estate appraiser, Julie Schaumberg captured the four-person Republican race for Warren County collector by a wide margin. According to unofficial poll numbers from Tuesday’s election, Schaumberg received 2,588 votes, or 46.03 percent of all votes cast. Other vote totals were 1,342 for Linda Gant, 923 for Marianne Keith and 770 for Pam Stoesz. “I’m very excited about this opportunity to serve my community,” Schaumberg said, underscoring her desire to run a friendly, open-door office that continues many of the traditions established by her predecessor Linda Stude. Schaumberg, who lives in Warrenton, is co-owner of Rob’s Lawn and Garden Equipment, Inc., and has worked as a real estate appraiser for the Clabaugh Group. She said that in addition to her relevant business experience, her strong community ties and outreach to voters made a difference in the election results. “I love my community, and getting to talk with and make connections with people all over the county has been a big factor in my campaign,” she said. Hoelscher Takes Treasurer’s Win Jeff Hoelscher won the bid for Warren County treasurer, taking 55.77 percent of the votes, according to unofficial results. Hoelscher’s 3,220 votes surpassed opponent Randy Lewis’ 2,554. Both ran as Republicans. “I’m very happy with the way Randy and I conducted our campaigns,” said Hoelscher. “We each put our message out there for voters to decide which they favored.” A Warrenton resident, Hoelscher is the current Warren County public administrator, an elected position he will vacate when he takes over as treasurer. He also is manager and escrow officer at Northeast Missouri Title, Inc. He ran on a platform of fiduciary responsibility, promising to keep the funds of Warren County citizens safe and citing his integrity in handling escrow funds and as conservator for scores of people in his role as public administrator. “I will work hard for the people over the next four years,” he said. Eggering Elected to Second Term as Circuit Clerk Incumbant Brenda Eggering captured nearly 65 percent of votes to cruise to a second term as circuit clerk in a race with opponent John Cornell that heated up in final days over social media. Unofficial election results show Eggering’s 3,920 votes to Cornell’s 2,127. Eggering was elected to her current position in 2010 after serving as probate clerk and serving 30-plus years in the circuit clerk’s office. She said her experience and network of supporters were key factors in her win, as was her push to go door-to-door in the final weeks of the campaign. “I was so involved in the transition to e-filing that I really couldn’t leave the office much to campaign, so these last few weeks when I could finally focus on the race have been critical,” she said. After Tuesday night’s win, Eggering was relieved.“I’m glad to be moving forward for the next four years,” said Eggering.
