Scenic Regional Library has been awarded the Missouri Library Association’s 2015 Library of the Year award. The library earned this distinction by successfully passing a tax levy increase last April, consolidating into a single district, expanding services throughout this year, and its impending merger with the Sullivan Public Library.Scenic Regional Library serves over 130,000 residents in Warren, Gasconade, and Franklin counties (excluding Washington), with branches in Hermann, Owensville, Warrenton, St. Clair, Pacific, New Haven, and Union. The district has purchased property to construct a new branch in Wright City.The library will be presented the award at the joint Kansas and Missouri Library Association annual conference in Kansas City. There are over 150 public libraries in Missouri. Last year’s winner was St. Louis County Library.Scenic Regional Library
