Ruby appointed to Cuivre River Electric Cooperative board

Posted

The Cuivre River Electric Cooperative (CREC) board of directors appointed Paul Ruby as the new board director for its Warren County District No. 2 seat. The position had been vacant since early July 2020, following the resignation of Board Director Keith Luecke, who moved out of CREC’s system.

Per the cooperative’s bylaws, the board of directors is allowed to appoint a qualified member to serve out the remaining portion of the unexpired term of a board director who has vacated the seat.

Ruby, who has been a CREC member since 1995, will serve until the term expires in August 2021, at which time he will have the option to run for another term representing his district in the cooperative’s annual election.

In late July, CREC put out a call for eligible candidates interested in serving as the Warren County district No. 2 board director. A board committee reviewed the candidates who applied for the vacancy and selected Ruby, who was then approved by the board of directors. He will begin serving at the cooperative’s October 2020 board meeting.

Ruby is retired, having worked in the banking industry and in healthcare. He is also a U.S. Navy veteran, and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. The Warren County District No. 2 consists of Warren County west of Highway 47 and south of I-70 and in Montgomery County in the Jonesburg area south of I-70.
