Mr. Roy Louis Dothage, a life long resident of Warren county, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 21. He was born on December 6, 1932 to the late Frank and Emma (nee: Brandt) Dothage in Warrenton. He was one of seven children. Roy had reached the age of 92 years.
Roy worked as a laborer in the agriculture industry for many years. He was united in marriage to Robbye Lea Bolm on June 7, 1958 in Warrenton at Friedens UCC. They recently celebrated 66 wonderful years together. They were blessed with two children, Karyn and Kevyn. Roy loved listening to "Old Time" Country Music. He was an avid baseball fan and especially liked to watch St. Louis Cardinal Baseball. He also enjoyed listening to the Billikens basketball games on the radio. Roy was a family man. His passion for baseball was demonstrated through watching his children and grandchildren play the game he loved so much. He was their biggest fan. Roy was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. His presence will be missed but never forgotten.
Roy Dothage was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Emma; six siblings, Howard Dothage, Orville Dothage, Addie Bunge, Elger Dothage, Burton Dothage and Grace Gloe. Surviving family members include his wife, Robbye; his children, Karyn Dothage ( Don Owenby) and Kevyn Dothage (Lori); two grandchildren, Brett Owenby (Sheila) and Trevor Owenby (Lisa); four great grandchildren, Madelyn, Noah, Blakely and Mila; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many close family friends.
A visitation for Mr. Roy Dothage will be held on Tuesday, January 28, from 10 A.M.- 12 P.M. at Friedens United Church of Christ, in Warrenton. Funeral services will also be held on Tuesday, January 28, beginning at 12 P.M. at the church. A burial will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to Friedens UCC c/o Martin Funeral Home.
