Roundabout opening today in Warrenton

Posted
A new roundabout at Veterans Memorial Parkway and Highway MM in Warrenton is expected to open today. The roundabout is just east of a new Interstate 70 interchange under construction.“This is a milestone in construction, which continues to progress well,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Erik Maninga. He said traffic will once again be able to access that intersection.Over the next couple of weeks, work will continue on the south side of the interstate, with plans to reopen the entirety of Veterans Memorial Parkway on June 30, MoDOT said. At that time, another roundabout at the south side of the interchange will be open to use, with some exits still closed. The remainder of the interchange is set to open later this year. The interchange project is being funded by two half-cent sales taxes passed by the residents of the city of Warrenton. In exchange for adding to Missouri’s transportation system, the city has agreed to assume responsibility of ownership and maintenance of Route MM to Main Street and Veterans Memorial Parkway from Denny’s to the new interchange.

A newly constructed roundabout at Veterans Memorial Parkway and Highway MM in Warrenton is now open to traffic. One exit on Veterans Memorial Parkway remains closed while crews continue building a new I-70 interchange.
