The Rolling Stones 4-H club kicked off October’s 4-H Week with several collection activities. Several club members from different Warren County 4-H clubs came together and collected and packed items for First Responder Baskets to show their ongoing appreciation for the service our first responders provide to Warren County and to say THANK YOU for your service. The clubs hand delivered the baskets to all the first responder locations throughout Warren County.

Rolling Stones also collected much needed Crisis Nursery items and delivered them to the organization. Items included a car seat, diapers, wet wipes, formula, soaps/shampoos, and hygiene items.

Rolling Stones also participated in Wright City Middle School’s Haunted Hallways and came dressed to impress in werewolf theme and handed out candy to trick or treaters. Fun was had by all!

During the annual recognition night for all the Warren County 4-H clubs, Rolling Stones leamed how hard work pays off receiving the blue/gold award for best scarecrow in town. The club voted to put together an AI theme using creative Chat GPT to create project specific ideas and examples that encompass what their club participates in throughout the year.

The club also received scholarship awards to five members who completed their event of choice and spoke publicly about it during one of the bi-monthly 4-H Council Meetings.

Rolling Stones’ next community event will be volunteering at the Salvation Army Bell Ringing in December at Schnucks in Warrenton, so be sure to watch out for them and show them your support!

4-H kids work hard throughout the year participating in community service events, fundraisers, monthly project meetings and fair time. 4-H is a year-long commitment and their hard work and dedication really shows. Rolling Stones conduct their monthly meeting at 6 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month in Wright City. If you’re interested in joining Rolling Stones or another local 4-H Club, contact MU Extension in Warren County Maureen Michel at 636-456-3444.
