Robert (Bob) Linke

Mr. Robert (Bob) Linke of Warrenton, passed away from death into life with his Redeemer on October 3. Bob was born on March 29, 1937, to the late Albert O. and Gladys M. (nee: Cope) Linke in Jonesburg. Bob had reached the age of 89 years.

Bob was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton, holding several offices in the congregation and being instrumental in many of its building projects. He attended several mission trips to help communities rebuild following a local disaster. 

He attended Price's Branch School and graduated from Montgomery County High School. During his high school years he was a proud member of the FFA chapter. Bob served his country and state proudly as a member of the Missouri Army National Reserve Guard. He was promoted to squad leader in 1962. He continued to serve his community as a member of the Warrenton Rotary and spent 10 years serving on the Warren County Ambulance Board. 

Bob married the love of his life, Marianne in June of 1957. They celebrated 65 years of marriage together before her passing. To this union, they were blessed with three sons, Tim, Tom, and Tony. 

Bob began his work career with Binkley Co. and soon was hired on with Missouri Edison Electric Co. as a pole lineman. He worked his way up through lineman to  Customer Service Representative,supervisor and then became crew chief until retirement. After retirement, Bob found many ways to keep his working hands busy with his blueberry patch, making sorghum molasses. He spent time with the Montgomery County Old Threshers demonstrating his tractors and making hand made brooms. Bob also worked with the La Charette group to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the Lewis and Clark Expedition by assisting in the building of a replica vertical log cabin that is standing in Marthasville. 

Bob is survived by his two sons, Timothy (Marcella) Linke, Thomas (Pamela) Linke; four grandchildren, Nicholas (Kristina) Linke, Michelle Linke Shafa (Eiman), Victoria (Jon) Statler, Taryn Linke; seven great grandchildren; Bryson, Evangelina, Annelise Linke, Aroya, Caspian Shafa, Charlotte, Arthur, Lucas Statler; one brother, Howard Linke; five sisters, Elsie Cope, Mary Ruth Hesterberg, Jewell Muns, Ruby Rapp, Cathy Stuckey; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, friends, and neighbors who he cherished. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Marianne, one son, Tony; three brothers, Chester (Bud), Clifford, Herbert and one sister, Margie Curtis.

A visitation for Bob will be Friday, October 9, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Warrenton, from 4 P.M. - 7 P.M. A funeral service will be Saturday, October 10, at 11 A.M. also at St. John's Lutheran Church with a burial at the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to St. John's Lutheran Church organ fund, or Montgomery County Old Thresher's or Warren County Old Thresher's Association.
