Mr. Richard Paul Bond, of Bertrand, MO., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 in Sikeston, MO. He was born in Warrenton, Mo., on January 23, 1947 to the late Jackson N Bond and Mildred W Dreyer.
Richard graduated from Warrenton High School in 1965, before joining the Army. He was proud of his time spent serving in the United States Army. Richard was also a member of the American Legion and the Poplar Bluff Gun Club. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends, shooting skeet, hunting, fishing and an occasional game of golf.
Richard Paul Bond was preceded in death by his parents, Jackson and Mildred; one brother, Jackson N Bond II; and one nephew Craig Bond. Those who are grateful for having shared in Richard's life are; his long time companion Carol Chapman and her family; one sister, Barbara S. Nelson; nieces and nephews, Angela Stanchfield (Bill), William Nelson (Cyndi), Gregory Nelson (Barb), Kenneth Nelson, Christopher Bond, Adam Bond and many other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Burial will follow at Warrenton City Cemetery with full military honors. Online condolences may be made at www.martinfuneral.net.
