A Right-to Work forum will be hosted by the Republicans for Warren County at their next monthly meeting Thursday, July 23.The meeting starts at 6:30 p.m. at Imo’s Pizza, 289 W. Veterans Memorial Parkway in Warrenton. Attendees can arrive earlier at 5:30 p.m. to eat.James Harris, representing the J. Harris Company, will be speaking in support of the proposed state legislation, while Shannon Cooper, of The Giddens Group, will present an opposing view. A question-and-answer portion will be held.In June, Gov. Jay Nixon vetoed the Right-to-Work legislation. State lawmakers are expected to revisit the issue when the veto session starts Sept. 16.Supporters in Missouri say the legislation would attract businesses and spur economic growth, while critics argue it would weaken unions and lead to lower wages.The public is invited to attend next Thursday’s meeting.
