Subscribers to the Warren County Record will have a new way to get their news beginning Aug. 13.The Record staff is excited to announce the launch of its electronic edition, an exact replica of the print edition.Current subscribers will now have full access to the new e-edition and other digital platforms at no additional charge. Subscribers can activate their digital subscription by visiting www.warrencountyrecord.com/subscribe.Digital-only subscriptions also can be purchased. Without a subscription, visitors to The Record’s website will be limited in the amount of content they can view in a 30-day period.“We recognize that some readers prefer to read their weekly newspaper on their computer, iPad or other digital devices,” Managing Editor Tim Schmidt said. “The e-edition gives subscribers the same look as the weekly print product. This allows subscribers to choose how they get their news when they want it.”Over the past year, The Record has ramped up its online presence by reporting more breaking news and updates to stories and providing more features, such as photo galleries and videos. Visitors to the website can also participate in weekly poll questions and contests.Other improvements are planned as well, including posting the scores and results from prep sports games on a daily basis.“Thanks to a growing online presence, our combined print and online readership is at an all-time high,” Schmidt said. “While many people question the impact of a newspaper, community newspapers such as The Record continue to reach more and more readers every week. No longer are we just a weekly newspaper.”The e-edition also is a great opportunity for subscribers who live outside the area or out of state who have to wait several days to receive the print edition in the mail.A video will be available on The Record’s website to help subscribers activate their digital subscription. If needed, staff members also can walk subscribers through the registration process by calling 636-456-6397.“No one covers Warren County like we do and that will always remain,” Schmidt said.WCR
