Paul Berry, director of the UW-Madison Herbarium, stands next to a Titan Arum or "corpse flower." The rare and malodorous flowering plant blooms only two or three times during an average 40-year life span and is expected to bloom within the next week in the UW-Madison Botany Greenhouses. Currently seven feet tall, the plant is growing 6 inches daily. © UW-Madison University Communications 608/262-0067 Photo by: Michael Rothbart Date: 5/31/01 File#: DC290 digital camera
