The races are set for the April 3 election with several late candidate filing within the final week. The filing deadline was Tuesday, Jan. 17. In Warrenton, six candidates are seeking to replace current Mayor Greg Costello. Jimmie Tipton and Wayne Smith II filed on the final day and join other candidates Don Broering, Jerry Cullom, Jerry Dyer and Dan Brazinski seeking the two-year position. In Ward 1, John Cornell will oppose Josh Pellerito. Incumbent Dan Dieckmann is not seeking a second term. Incumbent Fred Flake will be challenged for his Ward 2 seat by Gary Foland, while former Alderman Jim Dreyer will run unopposed in Ward 3. In Wright City, both aldermen seats will be contested. In Ward 1, incumbent Jim Schuchmann will square off against Danny Campbell, while incumbent Angie Reynolds will face William "Mike" Smith for the Ward 2 seat. One previous Ward 2 candidate, Corri Ruge, withdrew from the race this week. Mayor David Heiliger will run unopposed. In Marthasville, former Alderman Keith Hagedorn has filed for the West Ward aldermen seat and will oppose Pamela Jensen and Carla Skouby. Incumbent Leo Tobben is not seeking another term. Incumbent Jim Struckhoff was the lone candidate to file for East Ward alderman. Both aldermen positions in Truesdale are uncontested as the lone candidates to file were incumbents Shalene Blackwood and Rhonda Colombo. Also running uncontested are Village of Innsbrook trustees candidates Stan Price, an incumbent, and Bob Dowdle. For the Wright City R-II School Board, a fourth candidate, incumbent Laura Marsh, has filed. She joins the trio of incumbent Alice Klem and Kelly Gripentrog and Gregory Roth vying for two spots. The field for two spots on the Warren County R-III School Board features four candidates - incumbent Bill Hawley, John Clinger, John Bradshaw and Scott Russell. A race also will be held for two positions on the Warren County 911 Board of Directors. The candidates are incumbents Roger Stewart and Frank Stuermann and Scott Taylor. Other candidates for uncontested races: Warren County Ambulance District Board of Directors (two positions) - Subdistrict 2, Gary Miller; Subdistrict 5, Robert Linke. Marthasville Ambulance District Board of Directors (two positions) - Subdistrict 2, Wendy Frazee; Subdistrict 5, Arlie Berg. Wright City Fire Protection District Board of Director (two positions) - Michael Schriener and Rudy Jovanovic.
