The Warren County R-III School District is currently seeking applicants to fill an open position on its board of education.Superintendent Dr. Jim Chandler announced during the monthly meeting on May 11 that long time board member John Bradshaw has resigned his position due to conflicts with his work schedule. Recent changes had made it difficult for Bradshaw to make the meeting, resulting in his absence.The board accepted the resignation and Chandler spoke of Bradshaw’s time on the board since he was elected to the first of two terms in 2012.“He was a tremendous asset to the board and to myself as superintendent,” said Chandler. “We appreciate his support, and he always had the best interest of the students and staff in mind with the decisions he made. We wish him the best and understand why he had to make this decision.”The district posted the vacancy the day following the meeting and will accept applications from those interested in serving on the board who meet the qualifications of being a U.S. citizen at least 24 years old and having lived in Missouri for at least one year, among other qualifications.“The board will review applications and at the next meeting they’ll discuss what they’re looking for in a board member,” said Chandler. “They’ll decide on who to interview and vote on different people to try to fill the position.”The board is scheduled to meet again on June 1 for an early regular session meeting and then meet again on June 22 to finalize the budget for the fiscal year.“If you’re a community member and have an interest in this opportunity to come in and fill out the remainder of the term through April, we encourage you to apply,” said Chandler.For more information, contact the R-III Central Office or visit the district website at www.warrencor3.org.School Board
