Warren County R-III Board of Education candidate filing for the April 4, 2017, election will open at 8 a.m. Tuesday.Filing will remain open until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2017.There are three positions that will expire in April 2017. The term is for three years.Warren County R-III School District residents interested in filing candidacy must do so in person at the administration building, 385 W. Memorial Drive, Warrenton.Candidates can file from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Filing will not occur on days that the district’s offices are closed due to inclement weather or on the following days when the offices are closed: Dec. 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, and 31, Jan. 1, 2 and 16.Qualified applicants may file in the superintendent’s office by declaring their intent to become a candidate, in person and in writing, to the secretary of the board. The names of the candidates filing on the first day will be listed in the order in which they file.To be eligible, candidates must be a U.S. citizen, at least 24 years old, a resident taxpayer of the district, have (or will have) resided in Missouri one year immediately preceding the election, never pled guilty or nolo contendere nor been convicted of a felony, is not registered or required to be registered as a sex offender, and has filed all required campaign disclosure reports for any previous elections.Candidates are reminded that Senate Bill 380 requires that local board members after Aug. 28, 1993, complete 16 hours of orientation and training offered by a statewide association organized for the benefit of members of boards of education or approved by the State Board of Education.For more information, contact the superintendent’s office at 636-456-6901.Warren County R-III
