The Wright City R-II School District is issuing refunds for student fees that were charged before the abrupt end to the school year brought on by COVID-19.
Officials with the Warren County R-III School District said they had not yet come to a similar decision.
Wright City Schools announced last week that fees for canceled field trips and prom would be refunded to families, along with any money left in student meal accounts. Parents are also being given the option to roll their students’ accounts into the next school year.
Any fees owed for things such as lost library books or damaged Chromebooks will be deducted before the refunds are issued, the school district said.
To request a refund check from the Wright City School District, parent must complete a form accessible through the Wright City R-II Schools Facebook page.
The Record reached out to Warren County R-III officials to ask if similar refunds would be issued. Officials with the school district and Warrenton High School said no decisions have been made about how unspent student fees will be handled.
