Marthasville Chamber of Commerce presents the second annual chili cook-off and pumpkin hunt from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at the Marthasville Community Club, 601 S. One St., Marthasville.Events this year include the pumpkin hunt and St. Paul U.C.C.’s car show with food and drinks for purchase.The pumpkin hunt is open to kids up to 14 years old and runs from 11:30 a.m. to noon.The chili tasting event is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $5 to taste.Chili cook-off contestants pay $40 per team. Setup starts at 9 a.m. Awards will be given for best chili, people’s choice and runner up.Contestants need to cook the chili prior to the event. Three gallons is the recommendation, along with any garnishes such as chips, sour cream or cheese. Teams will have an electric outlet for their Crock-Pots and roasters for warming.
