Preparing for the Fair: Everything you need to know for Thursday

The Warren County Fair enters its third day Thursday and livestock exhibitors will be the focus of today's events.

The livestock buyer's dinner will start at 5 p.m., with the trophy presentation to follow at 6:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., the livestock auction will begin.

Last year, the auction generated a record $186,296.25 in gross receipts, an increase of around $24,000 compared to 2013. A total of 131 animals were sold during the 2014 auction.

The Fair continues through Saturday, July 4.

What is the schedule of events for Thursday?

1-5 p.m. — seniors bingo (Lions Club); 5-11 p.m. — carnival rides; 5 p.m.-midnight — music in upper and lower beer gardens; 5 p.m. — barrel racing; 5 p.m. — livestock buyer's dinner; 5:30 p.m. — Frank Stanek playing in Lions Club; 6:30 p.m. — livestock trophy presentation; 7 p.m. — livestock auction and truck and tractor pull.

What is the cost?

Tickets cost $15 for ages 13 and older. Thursday is seniors half-price gate between 10 a.m.-5 p.m. The cost for ages 7-12 is $10. Children 6 and under are admitted free. Carnival rides are included with admission.

What are the different categories for the truck and tractor pull?

Street stock — pickups and diesel pickups; Gateway Tractor Pullers — 10,500 hot farm tractor and 9,200 pro-field tractor; MSTPA — 7,400 light limited superstock tractor, diesel 4x4 trucks and 9,500 limited prostock tractor.

 

The 2015 Warren County Fair livestock auction will be held Thursday, July 2, at 7 p.m.
