Prepare to be scared; Upcoming Halloween events

As the final week of October approaches, more Halloween events are scheduled. Here are several that are open to the public: 

Saturday, Oct. 21

• Hometown Halloween from 2-5 p.m. on Main Street in Warrenton. 

Tuesday, Oct. 24

• Pumpkin Painting Party at the Warren County Scenic Regional Library at 6 p.m. Participants are asked to bring their own small pumpkin. All other supplies will be furnished. To RSVP, call 636-456-3321, stop by the branch, or register online.

Saturday, Oct. 28

• The Warrenton Elks Lodge is holding a Halloween Bash from 7-10 p.m. at the lodge, located at 1101 E. Veterans Memorial Parkway in Warrenton. The event has kids games, a costume contest for kids and adults, food, drinks and candy. The Elks are promising they will have the “scariest haunted house on the block.”  

Sunday, Oct. 29

• First Annual Trunk or Treat from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at The Shoppes of Warrenton, 1000 Warrenton Outlet Center in Warrenton. Area businesses will line up at the center to offer goodies to guests. 

Tuesday, Oct. 31

• Story Time for Preschoolers at the Scenic Regional Library Warrenton, 912 State Highway 47 in Warrenton at 10 a.m. For more information, call the library at 636-456-3321.

• Trunk or Treat at Diekroeger Park, 13410 Veterans Memorial Parkway in Wright City, from 6-8 p.m.

• Marthasville Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate Halloween with the community starting at 6 p.m. at station No. 1 at 405 E. Main St., across from Marthasville City Hall.
