Truesdale resident Jesse Barnett was arrested July 18, accused of a violent attack on a woman the day before.Police were dispatched to Barnett’s residence on Wabash Street just after 10 p.m. July 17, after the victim’s father reported that his daughter was involved in a domestic assault.The victim told police that during an argument with Barnett, 29, he grabbed her around the neck with both hands and began choking her. The victim further alleged that Barnett pinned her against a door and threw her into a table while she was trying to leave the residence.The victim said after she managed to secure herself in her vehicle, Barnett punched through her driver side window, striking her, according to authorities.Truesdale police arrested Barnett the next day. He admitted to punching the vehicle’s window, police said.The victim had a number of visible injuries, including small cuts on her chin, upper lip, shoulder and left hand, according to police. Fresh blood could be seen along the collar of the victim’s shirt, police reported, and abrasions and lacerations were observed on both of her elbows.Shattered glass was also observed within the vehicle where the driver’s window had been broken, according to police.Barnett is charged with second-degree domestic assault.He is being held at the Warren County Jail on a $10,000 bond. He has a hearing scheduled for Aug. 2 at Warren County Circuit Court.Jesse Barnett
