The Wright City Police Department continues to track leads as it investigates an armed robbery that occurred at the ZX gas station last Tuesday night, Nov. 22. Police Chief Douglas Saulters said a black male entered the gas station at 8:31 p.m. and displayed a pistol. The suspect then fled with an undetermined amount of money and was seen driving away in a black or dark blue car that was parked about a block away. The gas station is located at 13190 Veterans Memorial Parkway, just west of the Super 7 Inn hotel and across the street from the former Big Boy's property "We have a couple of leads we're following up on," Saulters said. "We're hoping someone might recognize him." The black male suspect was described as 6-foot to 6-foot-1 tall and approximately 200 pounds. He was wearing a ski mask, hooded sweatshirt and saggy blue jeans at the time of the robbery. It appeared the man acted alone, according to Saulters. Along with the gas station clerk, two customers were inside the facility at the time of the armed robbery. No one was injured. "We got good descriptions from all three of them," Saulters said. "We appreciate the observations from our residents. We're lucky nobody got hurt." Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department at 636-745-3541.
