From Aug. 19 to Sept. 7, Truesdale police officers will be out in full force as law enforcement agencies across the country take part in “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” an aggressive campaign to crack down on impaired driving.During this time of year, accident rates involving impaired drivers are higher than normal, said Truesdale Police Chief Andrew Huston.“Research has shown that high visibility enforcement like the ‘Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over’ campaign reduces substance-impaired driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent,” he added.The campaign will include high visibility enforcement, high profile events, and will be supported by national paid advertising.Truesdale police officers will be looking for impaired drivers during the crackdown and will arrest anyone caught driving impaired by alcohol or drugs.Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over
