Authorities are seeking a robbery suspect who reportedly held a knife to a victim’s throat while taking his belongings.A warrant was issued for Elijah W.P. Moore, 36, Warrenton, who is charged with first-degree robbery. He could be sentenced to 10 to 30 years in prison if he is convicted.Warrenton police allege Moore robbed a man at a home in the 2200 block of Columbus Circle early June 30.The robbery victim told police that he believed he was going to a female acquaintance’s house for an intimate meet up, according police. Instead, when the victim entered the home, a male with his face covered emerged from a bedroom.Police said the victim was told to get on the floor while he was robbed at knife point. Three “cellular devices,” four packs of cigarettes, a knife and $45 cash were taken, police said. The suspect reportedly told the victim that they both were going to the victim’s brother’s home to take a large amount of cash, but the suspect did not follow through because the victim did not have a vehicle. Police later discovered the victim’s brother was burglarized shortly before this robbery. The police investigation indicated Moore was the masked man at the residence. The victim identified a photo of Moore by a tattoo on his neck, police said. The warrant for Moore's arrest includes no bond once he is in custody, according to court records. Police said Moore recently was released from a 15-year prison sentence. Court records indicate that conviction was for assault on a police officer and armed criminal action.Records also show prior felony convictions for assault, theft, and multiple instances of unlawful use of a weapon.Correction: A previous version of this story incorrectly stated that Elijah Moore is in custody at the Warren County Jail. He is currently at large and is being sought by law enforcement. We apologize for this error.Crime
