The victim, in his mid-20s, was stabbed in the torso. He was airlifted to an undisclosed hospital. Bernard was not sure how severe the stab wounds were but it was believed the man suffered a punctured lung. The man accused of stabbing the individual has been interviewed, but has not been arrested. He is in his mid-30s. "We are still investigating and getting statements from people," Bernard said. According to Bernard, Warrenton police responded to a 911 call on Thursday, Jan. 1, in the 300 block of South Highway 47 for a stabbing around 1:50 a.m. Bernard said the two men involved in the incident were at a local bar and began arguing after arriving at the residence. A physical altercation ensued, Bernard added, and one person was stabbed. Police are still talking to witnesses and trying to wrap up the investigation. Bernard said it's unknown when - or if - any charges will be filed from the incident. "After we complete the investigation, we will discuss with the prosecutor what charges will be filed, if any, at that point," he acknowledged.
