Warrenton police are seeking to apprehend a suspect who robbed a local pawnshop Monday afternoon off Highway 47 south of Veterans Memorial Parkway. A male subject wearing a gray hoodie and nylon pantyhose over his face entered the We Buy Gold store at 616 South Highway 47 and implied to a clerk that he had a weapon, according to Police Chief Greg Houdyshell. No weapon was displayed, Houdyshell noted. The suspect demanded money and the clerk handed the suspect a bank bag with an undisclosed amount of currency, Houdyshell said. The man ran out the front of the store and around the south side of the building on foot, according to police. Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Warrenton Police Department at 636-456-3535.
