Fireworks are often used to celebrate the Fourth of July.Sadly, Independence Day often results in tragedy because of illegal fireworks use. Warrenton city ordinance prohibits the sale, use, discharge or exploding of any fireworks within the city limits.Warrenton Police Chief Greg Houdyshell said, “Our officers answer dozens of fireworks complaint calls every year. When an officer locates an offender they will seize the fireworks as evidence and issue a court summons.”The judge can impose a fine of up to $500 for each offense.“Residents should consider attending the fireworks show at the fairgrounds as an alternative,” said Houdyshell.The fireworks show will be held on July 4 at the fairgrounds starting at dark.Fireworks
